The Rey de Reyes 1999 was a very spectacular event, due mainly because it held a variety of matches besides the one that gives its name to the event. On March 7th, 1999, again at El Toreo de Cuatro Caminos, the so-called Main Man of Lucha Libre, Cibernético, was the absolute winner, imposing himself in the final match over Wrestlers Octagón, Electroshock and Latin Lover.
Before the final match, those 4 wrestlers had defeated Canek, Dos Caras, Abismo Negro, El Apache, Hijo del Solitario, Máscara Sagrada, Alebrije c / Cuije, Espectro Jr., The Panther, Oscar Sevilla “El Novillero” and Blue Demon Jr.
Wrestler Perro Aguayo, in a “bullterrier match” that also had wrestler Sangre Chicana as a contender, defeated seasoned wrestler Francisco Javier Delgado Reyes A.K.A. “El Cobarde”, who, faithful to tradition, also had his hair cut down and delivered to the winner.
On an exhibition caged match, AAA wrestlers La Parka, Heavy Metal, Hijo del Perro Aguayo y Máscara Sagrada Jr. faced against Karate Central Studio (a kick boxing and martial arts school) participants Kick Boxer, Thai Boxer, Carlos “Gladiador” Gutiérrez y Antonio Silva. The wrestlers did their very best effort, but in the end, suffered a bitter defeat at the hands of their challengers.
On another match, wrestler team Los Vatos Locos (Charly Manson, Nygma, May Flowers y El Picudo) faced against rival team Los Vipers (Psicosis II, Histeria II, Maniaco y Mosco de La Merced II), in which the former ended up victorious, retaining their Campeonato Nacional Atómico title as champions.
Female wrestlers Esther Moreno, Alda Moreno and Rossy Moreno defeated rivals Miss Janeth, Xóchitl Hamada and Migala at another spectacular match during the event.
